I’m still doing a lot of cross stitching on the massive project I started at the beginning of quarantine, and that along with my previously mentioned lack of attention span has meant an ongoing decline in my usual reading habits. I’m also finding my brain is still not ready for more meaty content (Over the last 2 weeks I have started and re-shelved Us Against You by Fredrik Backman, and tried to read Blowout: Corrupted Democracy, Rogue State Russia, and the Richest, Most Destructive Industry on Earth by Rachel Maddow only to decide I’m over saturated with politics at the moment).

SO. My goal over the next week or so is to turn off the tv, put down my sewing, and commit to reading A Heart So Fierce and Broken by Brigid Kemmerer. (Smaller, achievable goals, folks!) I actually started yesterday and read the first 20 pages! I have been looking forward to this one, so I’m sure once I get going it will be a quick read.

I also downloaded Marriage of Inconvenience by Penny Reid from Hoopla, because ridiculous romance novels a) go great with cross stitch projects and b) require very little effort or energy to get through. 😉 This one is a “billionaire heiress has to get married in order to keep her family fortune” type story, that somehow also involves the main character’s love of knitting… So. Y’know. Mindless fun! (I hope.)

In addition to the two “for sure” reads, I’m also on the waitlist for various audio and physical books from the library, so there’s a chance my reads in the next few weeks will also include:

Have you read any of the books I’m working on? If so, what did you think? If not, what are you reading these days? Do you have any “light reads” you would recommend? Let me know in the comments!
