Best laid plans, and all of that… I never did pick up The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse by Charley Macksey, so that is still on the TBR stack this week.

I’ve also started listening to Clanlands: Whisky, Warfare, and a Scottish Adventure Like No Other by Sam Heughan, Graham McTavish and Charlotte Reather. The general gist of this one should be obvious from the title, but the audiobook is narrated by Sam & Graham and their Scottish snappy banter has made for an enjoyable listen, so far. There were some mixed reviews on Goodreads – some readers felt it was narcissistic, others that it was a bit misogynistic. And, look, Sam did spend a few minutes at the start of the book describing Graham as “Lady McTavish” and mocking his preference for lattes and relaxation, but… I think it’s semi-drunken Scots drinking whisky and learning about Scottish history, so if you go into it knowing that…. I plan to keep an open mind, and continue along. I’ll try to remember to report back.

I’m also expecting my hold request for The Extraordinaries by T.J. Klune to come up in the next few days. After how much I adored The House In the Cerulean Sea I added my name to the waitlist for Extraordinaries on Overdrive. This one is fandom meets superheroes meets slow burn romance, and it has all the things I like in a light read.

Have you read any of the books on my TBR this week? What’s on your TBR this week? Are you starting to compile your summer reading list, yet? Let’s chat in the comments, below!
