I’m happy to report that my current TBR is full of books I’ve been eagerly awaiting, but have been stuck in book hold purgatory on Libby/Overdrive.
I’m currently listening to The Book Charmer by Karen Hawkins. In this one, Sarah Dove hails from a long line of somewhat mystical women. When she’s growing up she realizes her mystical gift is that she can talk to books – or rather, they talk to her. The books are desperately trying to help Sarah save her small town, Dove Pond, from its slow decline. When Grace Wheeler, her orphaned niece and her Mama G (the woman who took in Grace and her sister as fosters as children) move to town, the books tell Sarah that Grace is going to be they key to any chance there is to save Dove Pond. Goodreads assured me this one was a merger of “mystical and everyday” and so far it’s been super cute. I’m really rooting for Grace to find her place (and maybe a new boyfriend).
Next up is The Book of Longings by Sue Monk Kidd which has finally come off hold and into my Libby library. This one is about Ana, who is the wife of Jesus Christ, and the sister of Judas. I referenced in a previous TBR that this one has been somewhat controversial on social media, but I’m super interested and looking forward to it.
And, like Aubrie, I am so very much looking forward to The Invisible Life of Addie Larue by V.E. Schwab. I ordered the Owl Crate special Addie Larue box, and I cannot WAIT until it comes and brings me the book and various V.E. Schwab items to add to my life. I’m so excited!!
What’s on your list? Anything exciting coming up on your TBR list?
